47-Year-Old Man Charged with Murder of Former Partner Megan Tangye in NSW

A 47-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his former partner, Megan Tangye, 31, who died in December 2025 in Port Macquarie, NSW.

Ms. Tangye was taken to hospital from her Gore Street home with multiple serious injuries and died hours later. Police allege the man, who was in a relationship with Ms. Tangye at the time, caused her death through blunt-force trauma, as confirmed by post-mortem results.

The accused was arrested on a houseboat on the Hastings River, where a dog was also seized by council rangers. He is charged with murder (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

Detective Inspector Mark Rogers noted the extensive investigation relied on evidence, including witness statements, and acknowledged the trauma faced by Ms. Tangye's family. The accused is set to appear in court tomorrow.
