Iran declares a no-go zone for shipping in the Gulf of Oman

Iran is introducing a no-shipping zone east of the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the official representative of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Mohebi, Fars agency reports.

“The restricted area starts from Chabahar port all the way to parts of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea,” he said.

Mokhebi stressed that any ship attempting to pass through this zone without the consent of Tehran will be subject to sanctions.
