A man surnamed Fan from Hsinchu drank at a skewer shop late at night and drove on the road regardless of safety. He even drove into the opposite lane while turning right, violently hitting a motorcyclist and another car who were waiting at a red light, causing the rider to suffer severe fractures and fall into coma. Unexpectedly, Fan Nan instead of getting out of the car to save others after the accident, instead stepped on the accelerator and fled the scene, and then crashed into a parked vehicle on the roadside not far away. After hearing the case, the Hsinchu District Court sentenced Fan Nan to 6 months in prison and a fine of Yike for the crime of escaping after causing injury in a traffic accident while driving a powered vehicle.

The verdict pointed out that the accident occurred in the early morning of November 22, 2025. After drinking beer at a skewer shop in Hukou Township the night before, Fan Nan drove his car at about 2 a.m. and turned right on Shixing Road on Zhubei City's Zhuangjing North Road. Instead, he sped away and did not stop until he hit a car parked on the roadside at the intersection of Huanbei Road and Taihe Road 2 minutes later. After receiving the report, the police went to the scene and conducted a breath test on Fan Nan. They found that his alcohol concentration was as high as 0.62 milligrams per liter.
