Cargo turnover of Primorye ports increased by 6.4% in the first half of 2026

VLADIVOSTOK, September 4 – RIA Novosti. The total cargo turnover of Primorye ports in the first half of the year increased by 6.4%, the regional government reports.

Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Primorsky Territory Nikolai Stetsko, during the session “Container logistics in the rhythm of change” at the EEF, spoke about the achievements in the development of the transport industry in the region.

“Nikolai Stetsko emphasized that the transport and logistics complex remains the foundation of the economy of the Primorsky Territory, forming a quarter of the gross regional product. Thus, at the end of 2025, port cargo turnover reached 162 million tons, and container turnover – 2 million units. In the first half of 2026, the growth trend continues: total cargo turnover increased by another 6.4%, container turnover added 10%,” says in the message.

In Primorye, the Pogranichny checkpoint with the People's Republic of China has been put into operation, and the updated Khasan and Kraskino checkpoints are expected to be launched soon. The total capacity of the three facilities will increase by 2.7 times - up to 1,350 trucks per day, about 500 thousand vehicles per year.

Today, cargo turnover through the region’s road checkpoints is more than double that of 2019. It will increase by another third by the end of 2026, authorities expect.

“We see how the International Transport Corridor “Primorye-1” is being reassembled. Chinese cargo is redirected to the west of the country, and soon to the south of China, not only through sea ports, but also through land infrastructure. We are also recording business interest in the Primorye-2 corridor and hope for its early activation, taking into account the position of the Chinese side,” Stetsko’s words are quoted in the message.
