The security services arrested an administrative security officer, accusing him of causing a state of panic inside the State Council Courts complex in Al-Rehab, following suspicion of the presence of a foreign object inside the building.

Investigations revealed that a member of the administrative security in the complex placed a skeletal device consisting of a “jar” containing a mouse and wires, in an attempt to create a state of panic among those present. Then he put the package inside a plastic bag and threw it in a trash can, and asked a cleaning lady to lift the package, in an attempt to make those present believe that he had found the suspicious object and played his role in discovering it.

The security services were able to identify the accused, arrest him, and take him to the investigating authorities, which are conducting investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident and the reasons for its commission.

Yesterday, the State Council confirmed in a statement that at the beginning of work at the State Council Courts Complex in Rehab on Saturday morning, a strange object was spotted on the ground floor. The relevant agencies of the Cairo Security Directorate were immediately notified, and a cordon was taken around this object.

She added that bomb experts quickly arrived at the location and a thorough technical examination of the suspicious object was carried out and it was found that it did not contain any dangerous materials or explosives.

He pointed to the resumption of work in all court departments, the regular functioning of them, and the provision of litigation services to citizens normally, after fully ensuring the safety of the building and that it is free of anything that threatens security.
