An accident involving a car and a bicycle occurred 7.5 kilometers away from Route 9 in Xincheng Township, Hualien County. The Xincheng Police Branch pointed out today that at around 6 a.m. on the 24th of last month, a car accident was reported at 7.5 kilometers along the Xincheng Xianghua 9th Highway. They found that the 47-year-old female driver surnamed Zhang who caused the accident not only did not have a driver's license at all, but also Zhang's daughter at the scene. He was in a trance, with an abnormal expression, and was suspected of using drugs. The police conducted a drug saliva rapid screening test on the spot, and the preliminary screening result showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine. The whole case has been transferred to the Hualien District Prosecutor's Office for investigation in accordance with the Criminal Law of public danger.
