The Russian instrument PmL-Ch7 at the Chang'e-7 station will check the model of the movement of lunar dust

The Russian device for dust monitoring of the Moon PML-Ch7 at the Chinese automatic station (AMS) Chang'e-7 will, in particular, test the model of the movement of lunar dust. Leading engineer, coordinator of international projects at the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) Dmitry Zarubin told RIA Novosti about this.

“According to him, studying the movement of dust is necessary for greater safety of promising missions to the Moon. That is, we will be able to look at the concentration of particles, their charge, speed and mass,” the specialist said.

In August, the launch of China's Chang'e-7 lunar mission was postponed indefinitely because, according to Xinhua, the spacecraft "does not meet launch conditions, so its departure cannot take place at the scheduled time this year."
