Medvedev congratulated Kim Jong-un on the 78th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Chairman of the United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev sent a congratulatory telegram to the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The text of the telegram is provided by the Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA).

“Over the past decades, the DPRK has achieved outstanding success in nation-building, strengthening sovereignty and ensuring national security,” Medvedev said. According to him, the transformations in Pyongyang were the result of Kim Jong-un’s policy on socio-economic development.

The Deputy Head of the Security Council also noted that Russia and the DPRK are jointly fighting to establish a fair world order as opposed to the neocolonial course of the “collective West.” He emphasized that the positions of Moscow and Pyongyang converge on key issues on the regional and international agenda.
