As one of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) "Year of China" series of events, the Asia-Pacific Media High-end Forum was held on September 5 in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Chinese and foreign representatives from government departments, mainstream media, experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from APEC economies participated.
Tan Han Kuang, editor-in-chief of Malaysia’s Sin Chew Daily, particularly emphasized the importance of “soft connectivity”. He said that from "interconnection" to "symbiosis", it is not only necessary to cross national boundaries, but also rely on industrial linkage and multicultural cooperation to truly shorten the distance between people.

Cristina Patzias, community outreach manager of the APEC Secretariat, said that the APEC Leaders' Informal Meeting will be held in November.
