The 2nd International Exchange Conference on Intellectual Property Law Enforcement opens in Changsha

China News Service, Changsha, September 10 (Xiang Yipeng) On September 10, the Second International Exchange Conference on Intellectual Property Law Enforcement, co-sponsored by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the World Intellectual Property Organization, opened in Changsha, Hunan. Bai Qingyuan, deputy director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, Edward Quakua, assistant director-general of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and Jiang Difei, deputy governor of Hunan Province, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

It is understood that Hunan will take this conference as an opportunity to continue to deepen internal and external cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection and law enforcement, promote cross-border collaborative law enforcement with a higher position, improve protection and law enforcement capabilities with more practical measures, promote global innovation collaboration with a better ecology, actively integrate with international rules, and help Hunan enterprises steadily "sail overseas."

The World Intellectual Property Organization fully affirmed the intellectual property enforcement work of the State Administration for Market Regulation and its partnership with it, and especially highly praised this conference. It also pointed out that the digital transformation of the economy has brought many challenges to intellectual property protection, and international cooperation is the key to addressing these challenges. WIPO will continue to be committed to working with 194 member states and global partners to promote effective intellectual property enforcement and promote greater respect for intellectual property.

The European Anti-Fraud Agency expressed its gratitude to China for building this good exchange and cooperation platform. At present, the rapid development of technology has brought many challenges to intellectual property protection that transcend national boundaries. International cooperation, especially trust-based cooperation, is an important tool to deal with the challenges of intellectual property violations. He also shared the EU's international cooperation work on intellectual property protection that focuses on "protecting fiscal revenue, maintaining public security, and ensuring healthy economic development."

In recent years, the State Administration for Market Regulation has always adhered to the concept of cooperation and openness, actively expanded cross-border cooperation in intellectual property law enforcement, established regular cooperation mechanisms with law enforcement agencies in many countries and regions, signed a series of cooperation memorandums, promoted case clue notification, information sharing, joint investigations and coordinated law enforcement, and promptly handled foreign-related intellectual property rights. Complaints were made, and the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign rights holders were equally protected in accordance with the law; a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Hongqiao International Forum on "Combating Infringement and Counterfeiting" and the International Exchange Conference on Intellectual Property Law Enforcement were jointly held to promote the establishment of a regular law enforcement experience exchange mechanism and continuously enhance the breadth and depth of participation in global intellectual property governance.

In the next step, the State Administration for Market Regulation will further promote international cooperation in intellectual property law enforcement, accelerate the improvement of intellectual property protection rules in frontier areas, continue to deepen cross-border cooperation in intellectual property law enforcement, improve the global intellectual property governance mechanism, and promote the formation of a larger and more effective global intellectual property governance synergy.
