Five countries including Germany, Austria, Denmark and the Netherlands plan to sign an agreement to deport illegal immigrants outside the EU

The five European countries, known as the "Group of Five", said they had agreed on concrete steps to reach an agreement with countries outside the EU on setting up deportation facilities. But they did not specify which countries they expected to set up.

"We hope to reach an agreement with a third country this year so that we can set up a repatriation center," German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said at a press conference in Copenhagen, the Danish capital.

The G5 has held a series of relevant meetings this year and will meet again in Munich, Germany, at the end of this month.

The European Parliament passed major revisions to immigration policy in June this year. In addition to assisting in speeding up the repatriation process, it also allows EU member states to set up relevant centers abroad.
