Dockers vs Cats
Jye Amiss hits the post!
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers surge downfield, the ball goes to Jye Amiss inside 50 - but his kick hits the post! That could have been the sealer!
Nine points the margin. There are four minutes left.
Jack Henry kicks one, the Cats are under 10 points
By Andrew McGarry
It's just flat-out football at this point.
There is no quarter given, and the tackles are fierce.
The Cats wrench it free in the middle, Atkins kicks it long, and Jack Henry takes an incredible contested mark.
He kicks the goal, and it's an eight-point game with just under five minutes on the clock.
Huge mark - but a terrible kick - from Shannon Neale
By Andrew McGarry
We're in time on in the final term, and everything has to go right for Geelong.
Shannon Neale has just taken an incredible contested mark on the wing. I don't know how he held on to that.
But now his composure slips, and his kick down the line slews off the boot and out on the full.
That's another huge moment.
Jye Amiss kicks a great goal from the pocket
By Andrew McGarry
What is happening here!
Patrick Voss was paid a free kick in the left forward pocket for an arm chop. His kick was a horror, hitting the belly of the ball. It was two on one in the opposite pocket, but Jye Amiss ran in, put his arms out and it landed firmly in his grasp.
He had to kick from a very dodgy angle ... but his snap was perfect! The Perth Stadium crowd raises the decibel levels, and the lead is out to 15 points!
Huge moment there.
Ollie Henry kicks one for Geelong
By Andrew McGarry
This is getting tasty in Perth.
Every miss, every error, every slip is having repercussions right now.
The Cats jump on an error on the wing, they go forward, a Geelong player slips as he kicks inbound, but the ball skids wide of the defenders to Ollie Henry, who steps inside and slots the goal.
We're back under 10 points!
A miss from Mason Cox for Freo
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers take their turn to grab a turnover, the handball game sends it forward, then long to a contest where Mason Cox gets held.
He takes his free, but it's never on line - it goes to the left for a point. A goal right now would be REALLY handy for both sides.
Shannon Neale gets the first goal of the final term for Geelong
By Andrew McGarry
It's like deja vu...Another turnover, another goal.
This time it's the Dockers who turn it over, the ball is chipped to Patrick Dangerfield, who lobs one inside 50 and Shannon Neale takes the mark.
He goes back, and kicks it! Geelong is back to 13 points behind. Plenty of time.
Alex Pearce is a freakish defender
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers skipper Alex Pearce took a huge intercept mark on the wing to set up a chance for his side.
Now he's taking big marks at the other end, holding off Geelong.
He took one physical one, and the crowd lost their minds. Pearce cleared the ball, but looked a bit proppy.
Then 30 seconds later the ball came back in, and Pearce leaned back over his head and took a one handed half-grab before pulling it in. Just ridiculous stuff from the skipper.
Matthew Johnson misses a chance for Fremantle
By Andrew McGarry
It's been a hectic start to the final term, a goal to Freo was overruled because of a push on the line by Josh Treacy.
But then Alex Pearce took a running intercept mark on the left wing, handballed clear to Matthew Johnson, and he kicked wide to the left.
Dockers winning it in the middle
By Andrew McGarry
In that third term, the Dockers got it right in the middle of the ground. They won clearances 12-8, but the centre clearances were 9-1.
3QT: Fremantle 13.11 (89) leads Geelong 11.4 (70)
By Andrew McGarry
I find it hard to credit the state of play, but at three quarter-time the Dockers lead by 19 points.
Another Jye Amiss goal in the final minute emphasised precisely who had the momentum right now.
The Dockers kicked 7.0 (seven straight!) to 2.2 in that term, to the point where the remorseless "Freo!" chant started up in the crowd, as the home fans realised their side has control of this one.
Jeremy Cameron looks VERY sore, and the Cats have lost their mojo, and no one can stop Luke Jackson right now.
There is still time for Geelong to kick four unanswered goals, but unless there is another fierce momentum swing, it doesn't look likely right now.
Now it's Jeremy Cameron's turn to miss
By Andrew McGarry
Geelong need the quick reply, and they get the ball to Jeremy Cameron inside 50.
He marks, and goes back - but he pulls the kick to the right, or starts it too far right.
It's a point. The lead is 13 points.
Jye Amiss extends Fremantle's lead
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers are on a tear here, and now it's Jye Amiss who has marked from a clearance.
The kick is straight in front, 30m out - which so far tonight has been a frightening spot. But this time the kick is true, and the roar from the stands is huge.
The Dockers are 14 points to the good.
Isaiah Dudley snaps a great goal for Fremantle
By Andrew McGarry
This game is not for anyone with blood pressure issues.
It's tense, and intense, and every touch you're worrying where it's all going to go wrong.
The Dockers got the turnover there, and it was funnelled forward (not very scientifically) but it found Isaiah Dudley - and the Freo excitement machine who has hardly been sighted tonight - snapped it nearly post-high to float through for a vital goal!
Game on in Perth!
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers have made Geelong pay there!
They went forward, the Cats had it inside 50, but the handball clear went straight to Neil Erasmus, and he chipped over the top to Josh Treacy, who marked next to the square.
The set shot was good, and the Dockers lead by two!
We're entering time on in the third.
Caleb Serong gets a vital goal for the Dockers
By Andrew McGarry
The Dockers' stoppage game is usually strong, and they've shown it again there.
A forward 50 stoppage, Mason Cox got the tap, and Caleb Serong was there to snap a vital goal!
Freo are back within four points, more than halfway through the third term.
Hayden Young off the ground
By Andrew McGarry
That's a worry for the Dockers.
Hayden Young is tackled hard by Sam De Koning with both players going to ground, and it's Young underneath - and he is in pain.
It seems to be his leg, and everyone is very concerned given his history. He makes his way off the ground, and as he goes he seems to be a little better than first feared.
Still, he's off the ground. We'll keep you informed.
Oisin Mullin extends Geelong's lead
By Andrew McGarry
Well that was a bit rough for Freo.
The ball was kicked to Oisin Mullin on the edge of the centre square, Andrew Brayshaw committed to the contest but was a bit late. He tried to pull out but collided with the Irishman.
Mullin got a 50m penalty, and he slotted the goal to extend the lead.
