Apple is preparing to introduce its first artificial intelligence-supported smart glasses model in 2027. Here are the expected Apple smart glasses features of the device.

Apple is preparing to launch its first artificial intelligence-supported smart glasses model next year. This new device will connect Siri with the real world using Visual Intelligence technology and take the user experience to a different dimension.

It is noteworthy that there is no screen among the features of Apple smart glasses. The device is positioned as a completely artificial intelligence-focused hardware rather than augmented reality (AR) glasses.

Design and Hardware Details

The glasses will basically have a sound and camera-based working principle. Thanks to the cameras, Siri will be able to analyze the user's environment and answer questions and perform operations such as translation.

Users will be able to ask Siri to record the image of an object they see and remind them later. This feature was first mentioned in macOS 26.7 leaks.

The device will be equipped with speakers to listen to music and audio content. With this structure, glasses can be considered as an accessory that works with the logic of open headphones.

According to information provided by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the device's photo and video shooting capabilities may be limited. Apple is being cautious about this issue, considering the privacy concerns experienced with Meta's Ray-Ban glasses.

Apple designs these glasses in-house, not with any external partners. During the design process, different frame options are being studied.

Planned models include large Ray-Ban Wayfarer-style rectangular frames. Thinner rectangular designs similar to the glasses used by Apple CEO Tim Cook are also among the options.

Larger or smaller oval and circular frame options are also in development. All these models will be produced using acetate, which is a more durable and upper segment material than plastic.

The glasses will be offered in different color options such as black, ocean blue and light brown. This diversity will enable users to make a choice that suits their personal style.

Health-Focused Future Plans

Apple plans to focus on health tracking features in future versions of the product. In this context, integrating heart rate monitors similar to AirPods Pro 3 models is on the agenda.

It is also aimed to add software features such as Workout Buddy on Apple Watch to the glasses. However, these health features are not expected to be included in the first version.

The device is expected to be introduced at WWDC 2027. In this way, developers will be given enough time to prepare for the new platform.

The product will be released towards the end of 2027. It will most likely hit the shelves in September, along with the all-glass iPhone model celebrating its 20th anniversary.
