Attack on Ukrainians in Poznań

The incident occurred approximately 20 minutes after midnight on August 12-13, in front of a restaurant on Półwiejska Street in Poznań. There, two women attacked Ukrainian citizens.

A recording appeared online showing one of the women approaching two men, insulting them, spitting on one of them, knocking over a catering umbrella, and then hitting one of the men. There were also vulgar words.

The police immediately dealt with the matter. On Friday afternoon, the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński, announced on the X platform that the Poznań police had detained one of the aggressors. Shortly afterwards, he reported that the second woman was also detained.

The prosecutor's office brought charges. The women confessed

The prosecutor's office has already questioned the female suspects. One of them, Katarzyna S., is suspected of using violence against the injured Ukrainian who was recording the entire incident - she hit him in the hand and thus violated his bodily integrity, at the same time forcing him to stop recording. The suspect confessed, said prosecutor Łukasz Wawrzyniak, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań.

She was placed under police supervision and is prohibited from approaching or contacting the victims, said prosecutor Wawrzyniak.

In turn, the second aggressor, Monika G., is suspected of using violence against two Ukrainian citizens. The prosecutor's office accuses her of violating their bodily integrity and insulting them and the injured Ukrainian citizen because of their nationality. Moreover - as the spokesman of the Poznań prosecutor's office said - she was supposed to do it publicly, for a trivial reason and in a way that disregarded the legal order (it was a hooligan act).

The woman confessed and expressed remorse, said prosecutor Wawrzyniak.
