Australian Athletes Secure Multiple Medals in Cycling, Judo, and Boxing at Glasgow Event

🥈SILVER FOR CLAUDIA MARCKS It was a nervous wait for Marcks, with New Zealand's double Olympic champion Ellesse Andrews the last rider on the track. But Andrews time was only enough to land her in bronze medal position, which mean Marcks will take home the silver! Well done Claudia Marcks!

Track Cycling: Marcks into silver Welsh weapon Emma Finucane has just pipped Marcks but three hundreths of a second! Wow she hung in tough there for the final lap and has put herself in the gold medal position. Two riders still to come. Will Marcks hang on for a medal?

Track Cycling: Marcks still in the gold position And there are only three riders left. Unfortunately for Liliya Tatarinoff, she's been pused off the podium and down into fifth position. Will Claudia Marck's time be enough to hang on?

Track Cycling: Claudia Marcks into the lead! Marcks goes BANG to post a seriously zippy time of 1:05:607 in the women's 1,000m time trial and jump into the lead! That's a PB as well. Megan Barker of Wales held the lead very briefly there before Marcks hit the track, which means Tatarinoff nows slides back to third. Aussies currently in gold and bronze medal position with five riders still to post a time.

Track Cycling: McCaig into the bronze slot Aussie Alessia McCaig wasn't able to reel in that time from her team mate Tatarinoff, finishing just over one second back to sit in third position. There are some serious riders still to come, so I wouldn't expect McCaig to hang onto bronze here. One Aussie still to race - Claudia Marcks.

🥉Judo: Aussies add another medal Congratulations to Australian judoka Keishin Ochi, who has claimed bronze in the men's -81kg class. Ochi, ranked 29 in the world, scored an ippon to defeat India's Harsh Tokas. It was Australia's second medal in the judo competition in the space of 25 minutes, following Saya Middleton's silver in the women's -63kg.

Track Cycling: Tatarinoff shoots to the lead! More than half the field still to compete, but the first Aussie to post a time in the women's 1,000m time trial has posted a PB to jump into gold medal position. Well done to Liliya Tatarinoff! Let's see how the rest of the field responds.

Track Cycling: Time for the Women's 1,000m time trial We'll have three Aussies competing here, Liliya Tatarinoff, Alessia McCaig and Claudia Marcks. In this event riders take turns to post the best possible time over the distance, rather than all being on the track at the same time. I'll take a while for the 17 competitors to all post a time, but I'll keep you updated as the Aussies hit the track.

Judo: Bit happening for the Aussies on day nine! A lot has happened in the judo today, playing out at Glasgow's SEC Hall. Here's a recap of Australia's results so far on day nine: Saya Middleton finished with silver in the women's -63kg podium Maeve Coughlan won her quarter-final but lost her next contest against South Africa Keishin Ochi won one and lost the other, so he'll face India for a medal in the men's -81kg Aoife Coughlan won her finals today, up against England later for a podium finish in the women's -70kg Danny Vojnikovich won the quarterfinal but lost his semi, and will face host nation Scotland in the bronze men's -90kg Stay tuned to see how things pan out for the green and gold!

🥈Judo: Aussies claim silver Australia's Saya Middleton has taken silver in the women's -63kg class. Middleton went down to Canada's Laurence Biron in a closely fought match, which was decided in a golden score period. Well done Saya!

Track cycling: A couple of serious bingles We've had some crashes in the past few races at the velodrome. Thankfully everyone is ok, but it shows you just how hard these athletes are competing out there:

Judo: Aussie Middleton chasing gold Australia's Saya Middleton is one win away from a gold medal in the women's -63kg class. Middleton faces Canada's Laurence Biron in the final.

Boxing: How's that bling! Look at Eve Bryson with the bronze medal she secured in today's boxing final (for the women's 65kg weight division). Glasgow marks the 21-year-old boxer's Commonwealth Games debut, and hasn't she done well?! Bryson had an exceptionally challenging fight against England on day nine, with her opponent Sacha Hickey ultimately claiming gold.

Bowls: C’mon Falkland Islands Big game underway for Australia’s Ellen Fife in the women’s bowls. Except, she’s not out there. Fife won her match earlier this morning. Instead, her fate is now in the hands of England’s Katherine Rednall. Fife needs Rednall to lose to Arthur-Almond from the Falkland Islands if the Aussie is to make the semifinals and have a chance to defend her gold medal.

🥉 Track cycling: Bronze for Georgia Baker in the women's 25k points race It was gold in Birmingham for Baker, and now it's bronze in Glasgow. Her total of 51 points was just one shy of a silver medal, but well short of Welsh rider Anna Morris who took the gold with 66. Alyssa Polites, who was in front halfway through that race, ended up 12th while fellow Aussie Sophie Edwards was 13th. But it's another medal in the velodrome for Australia today! Bronze for Georgia Baker in the women's 25km points race.

Track cycling: Halfway mark of the women's 25km points race Good news! Australia's Alyssa Polites is currently in the gold medal position. There was a crash earlier, but fortunately it did not involve any of the Australian riders. Fifty laps to go, plenty to still play out in this one.

Denny medal ceremony Is this Australia's most love-able man? He was immense today!

Track cycling: Medals up for grabs in the women's 25km points race final Sophie Edwards, Alyssa Polites and Georgia Baker are the Aussies having a crack at this one. Riders in this one gain and lose points depending on how they are faring and for any mishaps or events during the race. It's a long one, 100 laps for these riders with moments of sprinting and long periods of tactical battles, but we'll be watching intently.
