The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the south of Russia: fires in the Novorossiysk and Krasnodar regions, suffered damage in Sevastopol

On the evening of September 8 and at night of September 9, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a massive raid on southern Russia. Several cities came under attack at once, damage was recorded on the ground, and several fires started. In particular, Novorossiysk came under attack.

According to Kravchenko, no one was injured as a result of the enemy strikes. However, the regional operational headquarters clarified that fires had occurred. Now operational and special services are working on the ground. As of 00:30 on September 9, Moscow time, the repelling of the drone attack on the city continued.

A forest fire started near Novorossiysk due to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

On the evening of September 8, the head of Novorossiysk reported that due to an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a fire started in the area of the Durso farm near Novorossiysk. All special services, as well as volunteers on motorcycles and ATVs, were involved in its elimination.

Later information appeared that the fire area had grown to 1.5 hectares. According to Kravchenko, about 70 people and 15 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. At the same time, the fight against fire is complicated by dry, windy weather and inaccessible mountainous terrain.

Ukrainian Armed Forces drones shot down over Krasnodar region

In addition to Novorossiysk, Ukrainian troops tried to strike the Krasnodar Territory. Thus, one of the drones was shot down near Anapa. The debris fell on the territory of the reserve in the Maly Utrish area, and a fire broke out in the forest.

According to the head of Anapa, Svetlana Maslova, the fire is being extinguished manually, as it started in a remote area with difficult terrain. The regional authorities sent an application to the Ministry of Emergency Situations to attract aviation. Maslova clarified that aviation could be used on the morning of September 9, if the situation allows.

Two other municipalities of Kuban were also under attack, the regional operational headquarters reported. They clarified that no one was injured, but residential buildings were damaged.

The enemy tried to attack Sevastopol several times a day

Another target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on September 8 was Sevastopol. In the morning it was reported that an enemy strike was hitting the city beach. Then one person was injured - a 57-year-old woman. She was found to have a shrapnel wound in her leg. Rescuers and an ambulance team arrived at the scene; the victim’s life is not in danger.

Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev spoke about the next wave of attacks on the city in the evening. According to him, more than seven Ukrainian drones were shot down over the city. As of 23:00 Moscow time, the attack was still being repelled.

The APU raid resulted in damage to four private houses. Drone debris fell in several areas, and small grass and forest fires occurred in some areas of the city and in Laspi. According to preliminary data, no one was injured.
