"Scientist" special science train on Ningma Line officially named and opened

China News Service, Nanjing, September 6 (Reporter Xu Shanshan) The "Scientist" science popularization train on the Ningxia-Malaysia Line was officially named and opened on September 6. The Ningma Line is the first cross-provincial urban (suburban) railway in China that is co-constructed, co-managed and co-operated. The special train is guided by the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology and the Anhui Association for Science and Technology, and is co-sponsored by the Nanjing Association for Science and Technology and the Ma'anshan Association for Science and Technology.

The passenger flow of the Ningma Line reached 2.3517 million in the first month after its opening, with the peak single-day passenger flow reaching 195,800. Relying on this cross-city passenger flow carrier, the "Scientist" science popularization train will create a "mobile science popularization museum" to transform the science and education popularization resources of the two places into mobile science popularization scenes.

The special train number is "001002" and the theme is "Carrying forward the spirit of scientists in the new era and accelerating self-reliance and self-improvement in high-level science and technology." The first phase will focus on promoting the connotation of the spirit of scientists in the new era and the spiritual education bases for scientists in Nanjing and Ma'anshan.

The naming and opening ceremony was held on the same day at the launch ceremony of the "National Science Popularization Month" Nanjing and Yuhuatai District home events. This special train will provide the "Yangtze River Delta on Track" with a replicable model of cross-provincial collaboration of "transportation + science popularization", assist the implementation of the integrated development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta, and promote the co-construction and sharing of science, education and science popularization resources in the Yangtze River Delta and the Nanjing metropolitan area.
