According to the statement made by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, who participated in the AK Party 25th Foundation Anniversary Program, made evaluations to the television channels before the program.
In his evaluation, Bayraktar noted the following regarding the steps taken by Türkiye in the field of energy and mining in the last 25 years and the goals it set for the future:
"Turkey has accomplished almost a century of work under the leadership of our President in a quarter of a century. The numbers tell us this; Turkey has increased its installed power in electricity fourfold, from 32 thousand megawatts to 126 thousand megawatts. We have implemented approximately 95 thousand megawatts of new installed power in electricity in 24 years. This corresponds to an installed power the size of Italy, and we have become the country with the third largest installed power, consumption and production in Europe after France and Germany. "In Türkiye, our oil production has tripled, our natural gas production has increased 9 times, and our mineral exports have increased 10 times."
Alparslan Bayraktar stated that they have a new goal, horizon and vision ahead of them and said, "That is the vision of the Turkey Century. We are preparing Türkiye for the new century. We will take steps that will radically change Türkiye in all areas of the economy, from transportation to agriculture, industry and our buildings. We have a fundamental goal: to make Türkiye independent in energy in the Turkey Century. This is literally our Red Apple." he said.
Referring to the development of natural gas infrastructure in Türkiye, Bayraktar said that natural gas, which was in 5 provinces in 2002, has reached 81 provinces today, and that they will provide natural gas to the thousandth settlement in Türkiye this year.
Bayraktar explained that they will double the domestic natural gas production in the Black Sea this year and quadruple it in 2028 and said, "We will meet the natural gas needs of 17 million households from the Black Sea with our own gas in 2028." he said.
Reminding that the regulation regarding the goal of a terrorism-free Türkiye was passed by the Parliament, Minister Bayraktar made the following assessment:
"Gabar is a project in which we see a small section, a small fragment of Türkiye without Terrorism. The oil, which has been underground for millions of years, makes a very important contribution to a great economic activity, employment, development and the decrease in our country's energy imports, as the region is cleared of terrorism. Today, we have exceeded the production of 83 thousand barrels per day. A new record comes from Gabar every day. Today, more than 3,500 people work in those mountains. Most of them are the children and young people of that region... "I believe that with the terror-free zone and Terror-free Turkey, a huge economic potential will be opened up for our country and hopefully 86 million people and our entire region will benefit from this."
ANOTHER 3 THOUSAND MEGWAT AGREEMENT WITH SAUDI ARABIA
Alparslan Bayraktar reminded that the agreement regarding the 2 thousand megawatt project regarding the renewable energy investments to be made by Saudi Arabia in Türkiye was signed before and said, "We will increase this to 5 thousand megawatts with a 3 thousand megawatt agreement on the margins of the United Nations Climate Conference in Antalya." he said.
Emphasizing that the uncertainty in the Hormuz crisis continues, Minister Bayraktar said, "This crisis actually holds an important opportunity for the whole region and the world. Perhaps, in this period, we may have the chance to bring to life the projects related to diversifying and making changes in energy routes that Türkiye has been saying for years." he said.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Bayraktar stated that during Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Zeydi's visit to Türkiye, the transportation of a significant part of Iraqi oil to world markets via Türkiye and Ceyhan was discussed and continued his words as follows:
"Actually, it is a project that we have been talking about for a very long time, but now it has become a necessity for everyone. In the coming period, Qatar gas may come to Türkiye via Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, and via Turkey to Europe, or via Iraq to Türkiye further on the Development Path, and Kuwait oil coming to Türkiye, all of these are now more clearly on the table. I believe that this crisis can open the door to such opportunities. It will be more balanced for both Turkey and the entire region, as well as for the world markets, and against the crises that will occur before us." "We will be more prepared."
POTENTIAL TO 2-3 DOUBLE GABAR IN DIYARBAKIR
Explaining that they are searching for oil with an unconventional production method in Diyarbakır, Minister Bayraktar said, "If we are successful, a larger production can come from Gabar. If we are successful in production with an unconventional method, we will open hundreds of wells in Diyarbakır. Therefore, we have established a partnership with companies that are technically good in this field. We are carrying out this work in four fields in an area of approximately 600 square kilometers, but the potential area in the region is 7 thousand 200 square kilometers. Maybe we can expand Gabar to 2-3." It has the potential to double." he said.
Sharing the information that Türkiye is searching for oil and natural gas in both onshore and offshore fields in Pakistan, Minister Bayraktar said, "Our Oruç Reis Seismic Research Ship is going to Pakistan in September or October. I will go there in the next few weeks to partner with mining projects in Pakistan." he said.
