A fire broke out in a private gym in Batman's Gültepe District for an unknown reason.

Upon notice, fire brigade, AFAD and 112 Emergency Health teams were directed to the scene. People in the hall were evacuated by the teams.

12 people affected by the smoke were taken to hospitals in the city by ambulance. 2 people could not be saved despite intervention in the hospital where they were treated.

The fire was extinguished with the intervention of fire brigades.

Governor Ekrem Canalp came to the area where the fire occurred and received information from the authorities.

Making a statement to the press, Canalp stated that a fire broke out in a private gym in the city and that 12 people were affected by the fire.

Canalp said, "Unfortunately, we lost 2 of our citizens. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. The fire department scanned the gym 4 times. No trace of any other citizen was found." he said.

The statement emphasized that the fire was immediately intervened by the fire brigade, UMKE and AFAD teams and included the following statements:

"From the first moment of the incident, Governor Ekrem Canalp followed the search and rescue efforts carried out in the fire area. Our teams entered the gym with special equipment and equipment due to the dense smoke, rescued 12 citizens affected by the smoke and sent them to hospitals in our city. As a result of 4 detailed scans carried out by the fire brigade, it was determined that there was no other citizen in the building. 2 of our citizens who were taken to the hospital died despite the interventions. The condition of 1 citizen, who is under treatment, is serious, and the health condition of 9 citizens is stable. The fire caused "The investigations initiated to determine the cause of the incident and the judicial and administrative investigation regarding the incident continue."
