The Rublevo-Arkhangelsk metro line is planned to be extended to Krasnogorsk

MOSCOW, September 13 – RIA Novosti. The recently opened Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya metro line in Moscow is planned to be extended to Krasnogorsk, said Vladimir Efimov, deputy mayor of the capital for urban planning policy.

“We are actively developing a project to extend the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya metro line to Krasnogorsk. On the six-kilometer-long Novorizhskaya – Emerald Hills section, it is planned to locate two stations under the design names Krasnogorsk and Emerald Hills,” the press service of the capital’s urban complex quotes Efimov as saying.

The message from the city complex notes that in the future, passengers on this line will be able to travel from Moscow City to Krasnogorsk and change to the MCC, MCD, Solntsevskaya, Filevskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya lines and BCL. As a result, by 2030 there will be 250 thousand trips per day on the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line. And when the metro is extended to Krasnogorsk, transport links will improve for 610 thousand people.

The Rublevo-Arkhangelsk line was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on September 5. Later, the head of the city spoke about plans to extend the metro in the Moscow region - to Khimki, Mytishchi, Balashikha and Krasnogorsk. By 2035, 35 new stations will appear in the Moscow region, 12 of them in the Moscow region.
