ÇAMLIHEMŞİN TUNNEL IS COMING INTO SERVICE
Uraloğlu stated that the 36.5-kilometer-long Pazar-Ardeşen junction-Çamlıhemşin-Ayder provincial road project is an important route for regional tourism.
Stating that Ayder Plateau hosts many visitors every year and that traffic density in the region has increased with the development of winter and plateau tourism, Uraloğlu said that the capacity of the existing road has been increased.
Within the scope of the project, the first 5.5 kilometers of the section is being built as a 4-lane divided road standard, and the following sections are being built with a platform width of 12 meters and climbing lanes.
THERE ARE 3 TUNNELS AND 5 BRIDGES
There are 3 single-tube tunnels on the route, with a total length of 3 thousand 670 meters.
These are listed as the 955-meter-long Çamlıhemşin Tunnel, the 2,265-meter Hala Tunnel and the 450-meter Hala-2 Tunnel.
The project also includes 5 bridges with a total length of 345 meters. These are the 50-meter Akkaya, 40-meter Şenyamaç, 135-meter Fırtına Creek, 90-meter Hala Creek-1 and 30-meter Hala Creek-2 bridges.
10 KILOMETERS OF THE PROJECT HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
Reminding that approximately 8 kilometers of the single-road standard section was previously opened to traffic, Uraloğlu spoke as follows about the new section to be opened:
"We are putting into service the 2-kilometer Çamlıhemşin Tunnel Crossing, which includes Çamlıhemşin Tunnel, Fırtına Creek and Hala Creek-1 bridges. Thus, we have completed the total 10-kilometer section of our project."
Work continues on the remaining sections of the route. While the excavation and coating concrete operations have been completed in the Hala Tunnel, the excavation and support works in the Hala-2 Tunnel have ended. Arch concrete production continues in this tunnel.
Work continues in the approximately 7-kilometer section between Çamlıhemşin Tunnel and Ayder Plateau.
TRAVEL TIME WILL BE SHORTEN BY 20 MINUTES
Uraloğlu stated that the route will be shortened by 1.5 kilometers with the completion of the project.
With the completion of the road, it is aimed to reduce the travel time from 55 minutes to 35 minutes.
Uraloğlu explained the savings that the project will provide as follows:
"We will reduce the travel time from 55 minutes to 35 minutes. Thus, we will save a total of 772 million liras annually, including 675 million liras from time and 97 million liras from fuel. We will also reduce carbon emissions by 4 thousand 800 tons annually."
With the completion of the project, it is aimed to facilitate transportation from the Black Sea coast to the inland areas and to make access to tourism centers in the region, especially Ayder Plateau, faster and more comfortable. The road is expected to contribute to the trade and tourism potential in the region.
