2026 electoral campaign in Paraná begins with candidate agendas in Curitiba and Guarapuava

🔍The 2026 electoral campaign began on August 16 across the country. Since this date, candidates have been authorized to ask for votes and hold rallies, walks, debates and publicize their proposals on radio, TV and the internet, following the rules established by the Electoral Court.

Requião Filho (PDT) visited Bishop Dom Peruzzo in Curitiba in the morning. In the afternoon he was in Guarapuava, in the central region of the state, where he gave an interview and participated in a podcast. At night, he was interviewed by Rede TV, when he stated that he intends to maintain the IPVA reduction made in 2025 and proposed exempting electric car drivers who work through apps from the state tax. The last appointment of the day is a meeting with supporters in the Boqueirão neighborhood, in Guarapuava.

Sandro Alex (PSD) met with businesspeople from the G5 and representatives of the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel). Afterwards, he went to meetings with the directors of Sebrae and the Medical Association of Paraná. During the afternoon, the candidate gave an interview to O Globo and made recordings for the election campaign. The last commitment is an anniversary dinner for a company in the capital of Paraná.

Sérgio Moro (PL) gave an interview to TV Evangelizar and said that, if elected, he will increase the number of hours that schools have for classes. The agenda was activity in Curitiba, with recordings for the election campaign and a visit to Sebrae headquarters. The last appointment, at 6:30 pm, was an interview with O Globo.

The first round of the 2026 elections will be held on October 4. The second round, if necessary, is scheduled for October 25th. In Paraná, the parties defined eight names in the dispute for government. They are:
