Traversetolo case: the Parma Prosecutor's Office appeals against the acquittal for the first newborn

The Parma Prosecutor's Office has appealed against the acquittal of Chiara Petrolini for the murder of her first child, the newborn she gave birth to and died on 12 May 2023, then buried in the home garden.

On April 24, the young woman from Traversetolo was sentenced to 24 years and three months for having murdered, with premeditation, her second child, who was born on August 7, 2024, while for the judges of first instance, there is no evidence that the first was born alive.

The prosecutors also insist on requesting recognition of the suppression of the body for both: the sentence had reclassified the second episode as the less serious concealment.
