Catherine, the Princess of Wales, reunited with her family after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge for a cancer charity. On Sunday, July 5, she posted a message to her Instagram followers, exactly one week after she had secretly completed the gruelling trek, to help raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Princess, 44, is seen embracing her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and her husband, the Prince of Wales. The pictures taken after the princess had descended the final summit give a rare look into her family support system. In the first photo, the Princess of Wales is seen wearing casual red athletic shorts and a solid black T-shirt as she hugs Prince William, 44. The second picture shows him hugging her firstborn, Prince George, 12. Another picture shows an emotional Catherine hugging Princess Charlotte, 11. “This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity,” she wrote in the caption. Her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her brother, James Middleton, were also present to celebrate her achievement. Check out the pictures here: The Princess of Wales completed a gruelling 23-mile solo trek across Britain's three highest peaks, climbing more than 10,000 feet in a single 24-hour window to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the hospital that treated her for cancer. Meanwhile, a week ago, she shared a photo from the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Scotland. She was seen in full hiking gear, smiling for the camera. The princess shared an important message elaborating on her decision to complete the hike. “I have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back. The Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life-changing for so many people,” she said. The princess also added that with the challenge, she wants to raise awareness about the impact of this illness and the importance of holistic healthcare. “Every individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole-person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients’ ability to maintain their wellbeing, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time,” she said. Catherine also spoke about how cancer affects more than the body. “Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone,” she said. She further elaborated about how healing is not just about fixing what is wrong but finding balance in how we live. “Between effort and acceptance, between control and trust, between thinking and simply being. Because in the end, bravery isn’t just about pushing forward. It is about knowing how to stay grounded, connected and present, no matter the terrain or landscape you are walking.” Meanwhile, in January 2025, the princess announced that she was in remission from cancer, after revealing her diagnosis the previous year.
