Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation warned of the risk of escalation in the Baltic region due to Western actions

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko said at the WEF about the risk of escalation in the Baltic Sea region due to the actions of the West.

According to him, the Baltic region has become a zone of military confrontation with the risk of unforeseen incidents.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 2 - RIA Novosti. The actions of the West have created a huge risk of escalation in the Baltic Sea region, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko said at the WEF.

“Today this is actually a zone not only of military rivalry, but also of military confrontation with a huge risk of unforeseen incidents of a military nature with the potential for escalation, including uncontrollable ones,” he said about the Baltic region at the session “Comprehensive solutions to issues of ensuring the security of the NSR and TTC.”

Grushko emphasized that Western countries created such a situation in just a few years. Until recently, this region was the calmest militarily, the diplomat noted.
