Chats Contradict Siya Goyal's Statements in Ketan Agarwal Murder Probe, Say Lonavala Police

LONAVALA: The investigation into realtor Ketan Agarwal's alleged murder has taken a fresh turn, with police claiming that prime accused Siya Goyal has been giving conflicting statements during interrogation, while chats recovered from her and Ketan's mobile phones appear to contradict her claims. According to police officials, Siya has now "started spinning stories" during questioning. Investigators said she claimed she had told Ketan she did not want to marry him, but alleged that he insisted it was "too late" and that things had "gone too far" for the wedding to be called off. However, police said the chats recovered from both their mobile phones do not support her claims. Official said the conversations indicate that the two were interacting like a typical couple, sharing affectionate exchanges prior to their wedding.'Not convincing' "On the basis of the chats recovered from the phones, her claims are not convincing," a police official said, adding that the case is being investigated from all possible angles. Officials said the investigation is continuing from every possible angle as they examine the digital evidence and other material collected during the probe. Ketan Agrawal was reportedly to have died after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. However, the investigation later took a dramatic turn, with Lonavala Rural Police alleging that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her friend Chetan Chaudhary conspired to murder him. Police suspect Siya was unwilling to marry at this stage of her life and was allegedly under family pressure to go ahead with the wedding. Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were arrested on June 23 and are currently in police custody till June 29 as the investigation continues.
