Funeral of 3 Siblings Who Died in the Sea in Darıca Held

On August 20, around 16:00, 3 bodies were found washed ashore in the Kazım Karabekir Neighborhood, Darıca Beach location. The bodies were recovered from the sea through the efforts of teams called to the scene. It was determined that the bodies belonged to siblings Gülşah Sakar, Muhammet Ali Sakar, and Belinay Sakar. The lifeless bodies of the siblings, who were fully clothed and bore no signs of beating or injury, were taken to the Gebze Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy after initial examinations. It turned out that the other sibling, B.S. (21), who could not be reached after the incident, was at home.

It was learned that the siblings' parents were divorced, and that they lived with their mother in the district's Karabekir Neighborhood, while their father was in Kars. It was learned that Belinay and Muhammet Ali were high school students, while Gülşah Sakar had been accepted into law school this year.

During the initial examinations performed during the autopsy, it was reported that one of the siblings had bleeding in the ears, evaluated as being pressure-related, and traces of blood on the nose. It was reported that initial findings pointed to drowning as the cause of death, and no traces of knife or gun injuries indicating beating or a struggle were found on their bodies.

Security camera footage of the moments when the siblings walked to the beach has emerged. The footage captured the moments when the 3 siblings walked together toward the beach on Eskihükümet Street at 03.49. The camera recording also showed Gülşah and Belinay Sakar walking arm in arm, with Ali Sakar walking beside them.

After the autopsy procedures, the bodies of the siblings, which were handed over to their mother Güler Saltan, were brought today to the Eyüpoğlu Mosque located in Emek Neighborhood, Darıca district. The funeral was attended by the family's relatives, extended family members, and loved ones. Following the funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer, the siblings were buried in the Gebze Balçık Cemetery.

Their older sister also drowned in the sea 10 years ago

It was learned that Belinay Sakar, one of the siblings found dead in the sea in Darıca, Kocaeli, had her birthday today, and was laid to rest on her 15th birthday. In addition, it was reported that the siblings' older sister, whose name could not be learned, also drowned in the sea in Çeşme, Izmir, 10 years ago.

It was stated that the other sibling, B.S. (21), who was found alive at home after the incident, has an intellectual disability.
