Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge Nears Historic Box Office Records on Day 41

The box office journey of Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller, 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge', has entered a historic phase. As of Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Ranveer Singh starrer enters Day 41 of this theatrical run, since its release on March 19, 2026. Standing as the third highest-grossing Indian film in history, it is currently locked in a twin record chase: eyeing ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Pushpa 2’. The film is just Rs. 9.04 crore away from surpassing 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's worldwide gross of Rs. 1,788.06 crore which also happens to be a nine-year-old record since 2017. Simultaneously, 'Dhurandhar 2' requires approximately Rs. 102 crore more in India net to dethrone Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' as the all-time domestic champion.

Despite facing stiff competition from the IPL 2026 season and the new release of the Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Bhooth Bangla', the film continues to thrive.

From its opening day, the biggest ever for a Hindi film, to its sixth week, here is how the numbers stacked up. Week 1 fetched Rs. 674.17 crore, shattering every existing record to become the highest opening week in Indian history. Week 2 brought in Rs. 263.65 crore. In just 11 days, it surpassed the lifetime collection of the 2025 original with its Rs. 840.20 crore. Week 3 raked in Rs. 110.60 crore, making it the first Hindi film to join the elite Rs. 1,000 crore net club in India. Week 4 netted Rs. 54.70 crore, breaching the Rs. 1,100 crore mark on Day 29. Week 5 saw the film collecting Rs. 19.42 crore, all while competing for screens with the April 17-released horror-comedy, 'Bhooth Bangla'.

On Day 40, 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' saw a significant 69.1% decline in domestic earnings, netting Rs. 1.05 crore across 2,808 shows. This brings the film’s total India net to Rs. 1,131.64 crore and Rs. 1,354.52 crore gross. On the global front, the film added an additional Rs. 0.25 crore in daily overseas revenue, pushing its overseas collection to Rs. 424.50 crore. Consequently, the blockbuster’s cumulative worldwide gross now stands at a massive Rs. 1,779.02 crore.

Moving into Day 41, 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' continues its theatrical run with 1444 shows, earning a live net collection of Rs. 0.51 crore today. This steady performance pushes the film’s total India net to Rs. 1,133.15 crore, with the domestic gross currently standing at Rs. 1,355.12 crore as final reports for the day await confirmation.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, this 229-minute espionage epic is a direct continuation of the 2025 hit. Ranveer Singh returns as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a R&AW operative living undercover in Karachi as Hamza Ali Mazari. The screenplay masterfully blends fiction with real-world events, including the 26/11 attacks, demonetization, and the Lyari gang wars. To authentically recreate Pakistan's border terrain, the production was filmed in Thailand, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. The film features a stellar ensemble including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, with a surprise cameo by Yami Gautam.
