Monaco draws with Strasbourg, Milan follows Lazio, and Liverpool suffers offensively against Fulham

Strasbourg broke Monaco's winning streak in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw between the two teams in the fourth round of the French Football League, on Saturday.

After 3 victories in the first three rounds, Monaco settled for a draw in Strasbourg, which opened the scoring thanks to an own goal scored by Sadipo Sane by mistake in the 52nd minute.

The emirate's team equalized with Paris Broner's equalizer with a wonderful shot into the top corner of the goal in the 71st minute.

With this result, Monaco remains at the top of the standings with 10 points, ahead of second-place Rennes on goal difference.

The team led by Brazilian coach Filipe Luis will meet in the next round against Lens, next Friday.

On the other hand, Strasbourg continued its awakening with two successive wins, and a draw in the last 3 rounds, leaving its score of 7 points in sixth place.

In the next round, Strasbourg will host Paris FC on Saturday.

Milan overturned a two-goal deficit at its host Lazio stadium to an exciting 2-2 draw today, Saturday, in the fourth round of the Italian League.

The first half ended with Lazio leading by two unanswered goals, as Matteo Cancelleri opened the scoring in the tenth minute, then Dutchman Tijani Nosslin added the second goal in the 39th minute.

In the second half, Milan intensified its attacks in search of reducing the gap, which was actually achieved by Belgian Diego Moreira in the 65th minute, and just two minutes later the same player scored the equalizer for the visiting team.

Lazio stumbled for the first time after three consecutive victories, but remained in the lead after raising its score to ten points, compared to eight points for Milan in fourth place.

Roma and Inter Milan can now take the lead if the former wins over its host Torino and Inter Milan over its guest Udinese, on Monday.

Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola admitted that his team is suffering offensively, after a goalless draw with Fulham in the English Premier League, on Sunday.

Iraola said on BBC Sport after the match that was held at Anfield, “No team can be satisfied with a draw at home. Today we lacked activity, and we did not attack enough to make a difference.”

He added: “We came out with a clean sheet, and our level improved in the second half, but in the first half, we started the match slowly, lacked vitality, and did not perform adequately, and we had to be better offensively.”

He pointed out: “We faced Atletico Madrid in the Champions League 60 hours ago, so all players must adapt to the pressure of the matches, and most of the adjustments to the starting lineup were for physical reasons due to the players feeling tired.”

Iraola added: “But this is normal in every season, and we will play a match in three days against Tottenham in the League Cup, so we have to adapt and find ways to achieve victory.”

Liverpool coach talked about the new arrival, Bradley Barkola, saying: “We are trying to prepare him physically by participating in matches, to improve his fitness, but the matter is not limited to him only, as the entire team is suffering physically.”

Andoni Iraola concluded: “Fulham threatened us with only one chance, and we maintained our cohesion defensively, but offensively we need to perform better.”
