Former leader Chung Cheong-rae, whose bid for a second term was thwarted at the August 17 National Convention of the Democratic Party of Korea, appealed to party members on the 18th, "Please do not leave the party and join Chung Chung-rae."

In an article posted on Facebook that day, former representative Jeong said, “Even though I lost, the passionate passion and will of my comrades ahead of reform won.”

Regarding the entry into the leadership of Supreme Council members Choi Min-hee, Lee Seong-yoon, and Han Min-soo, who are classified as pro-Qing factions, he said, “It is a valuable achievement made by you (party members),” and added, “I will silently work for reform and integration of the four parties in my position.”

Former Representative Jeong's message is interpreted as an intention to dissuade hard-core supporters from leaving the party and to help end internal conflict within the party, while appealing to party members by emphasizing the guarantee of party member sovereignty and clear reform.

Earlier, when former representative Jeong met with reporters after the national convention election, he emphasized, “We must move forward holding the banner of reform higher,” and “Let’s meet again in the deeper and wider sea of ​​democracy.”

In a Facebook post the day before, he also appealed, saying, "Should I leave my owner's house?" and "We must raise the flag of the sovereign party of the party higher."
