England to begin Ashes quest at Trent Bridge on 18 June

England will begin their quest to regain the men's Ashes from Australia at Trent Bridge on 18 June next year, with the women's series starting six days later.

The second men's Test at Lord's begins on 30 June and the third at Edgbaston on 8 July.

The Utilita Bowl in Southampton will become the 10th UK ground to host a men's Ashes Test when the fourth Test gets under way on 21 July, with the series concluding at the Kia Oval from 29 July.

The multi-format Women's Ashes will be held from 24 June to 20 July as the two series run alongside each other like in 2023.

The men will not play any Tests in the north of England after Emirates Old Trafford and Headingley were not selected to host matches.

The decision was criticised by the now prime minister Andy Burnham - then the mayor of Greater Manchester - when it was announced in 2023.

England, who lost 4-1 in Australia last winter and are without a Test coach after the sacking of Brendon McCullum, will prepare for the Ashes by facing Bangladesh in a one-off Test at Lord's starting on 28 May.

Australia will play a warm-up game against England Lions at Old Trafford from 7-10 June as part of a new reciprocal agreement between the countries to arrange a "high-quality opposition at an international venue".

England women, who lost 16-0 in Australia in 2025, will look to win their first Ashes Test since 2014 when the series starts with a four-day game at Headingley from 24 June.

The sides will also play three T20s starting on 3 July - at Trent Bridge, The Oval and Old Trafford - and three one-day internationals beginning on 13 July, at Southampton, Lord's and Edgbaston.

In the multi-format series, victory in the Test is worth four points and each win in a white-ball game is worth two.

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that a England men's mixed disability team will face Australia next summer, although a schedule has not been confirmed.

England men's summer in 2027 will begin with a five-match ODI series against Pakistan in May, before finishing with three T20s and five ODIs against New Zealand in September as they prepare for 50-over World Cup starting in October.

England women will host Bangladesh in a three-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series in September.

The men's World Test Championship final will take place at The Oval from 9 June.

Australia's warm-up game against England Lions will be reviewed if the tourists reach the final.

The Ashes will complete a marathon red-ball run for Australia, who host Bangladesh for two Tests in August, tour South Africa for three Tests in October, host New Zealand for four Tests at the turn of the year, compete in five Tests in India in January and February and stage a one-off Test against England in March to mark 150 years of Test cricket.
