According to the "TASS" agency, citing sources in the Russian security services, offensive units belonging to the "North" group of forces continue their advance in the eastern part of the enclave, coinciding with the narrowing of the scope of the siege imposed on the Ukrainian forces.

The sources said that during the week, Russian forces destroyed more than 20 pieces of Ukrainian equipment, including armored vehicles, during attempts to break through the siege ring.

The sources reported that Russian forces are continuing a systematic operation to eliminate the besieged Ukrainian group in the Volchansk axis, while offensive operations continue inside the towns located in the eastern part of the same axis.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the encirclement of another group of Ukrainian forces, numbering about two thousand soldiers, in the northeastern part of Kharkov Province.

Putin explained that the area of ​​the enclave is about 460 square kilometers, and includes 27 towns, and said that eliminating the forces inside it would distance the combat line of contact in this axis from the border areas of the Russian Belgorod Province by at least 20 kilometers.
