FC Bayern Munich: Contract talks with Harry Kane and future of Michael Olise

FC Bayern sees itself on the right track in contract negotiations with star striker Harry Kane. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen reported on the TV channel Sport1's “Doppelpass” program about the already known first conversations with the captain of the English national football team. “We have a relaxed relationship,” he assured. It is “noticeable that both sides want this”.

Kane's interests are represented by his father and brother. The discussions also include the future salary of the top earner and the term of the new contract until 2029 or 2030. The duration is “one of the little things that I don’t talk about here,” said Dreesen with a laugh. Kane is said to want the Munich team to have a longer contract term. According to the Bayern board, the striker's camp is planning the 33-year-old's general career even beyond three years.

At the start of the Bundesliga against VfB Stuttgart more than a week ago, Kane said that there would still be a lot of discussions about the details. “It may not be my last contract, but it is a big contract that I have to decide on.” Kane came to Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for Munich's record fee of around 100 million euros and is scoring goals like he's on an assembly line.

The future of Michael Olise (24) at FC Bayern Munich is at least contractually regulated until June 30, 2029. The outstanding offensive player has already been linked to alleged offers worth as much as 200 million euros.

“Promising something in this business is a delicate matter,” said Dreesen. In any case, there was no offer on the table for the French international this summer. “We will discuss again in the summer whether we can keep him permanently.”

Olise moved from Crystal Palace to Munich in the summer of 2024 for around 55 million euros, where he is one of the top performers and stars. “Olise is a magician on the pitch,” praised Dreesen.
