French club Monaco announces the termination of Paul Pogba's contract

French club Monaco announced on its social media accounts on Wednesday that it had terminated the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba.

The club, which is active in the League 1 competition, said: “The club would like to express its deep gratitude to the 2018 World Cup winner for the trust he placed in the institution, and for the highest levels of professionalism he demonstrated throughout his existence.”

He added: "During his time in Monaco's colors, Paul showed a wonderful mentality, unwavering determination, and the highest standards at every moment."

Monaco added: "Thanks to all his efforts, he was able to return to competition at the highest level after a long period away from the game, and he also shared his experience and knowledge with the first team."

Pogba joined Monaco in the summer of 2025 with a two-year contract, after his suspension ended for violating anti-doping regulations.

The 33-year-old participated in only 6 matches with Monaco, during which he did not succeed in scoring or assisting.

While he was at the club, he suffered a calf injury and was sidelined for 4 months.
