Fire on passenger ferry in the Philippines: 5 dead

According to the news of the Philippines-based broadcast network GMA Network, authorities stated that a fire broke out on the passenger ferry going from the capital Manila to the Coron region of Palawan province for an unknown reason.

Authorities reported that 5 people died when the ferry with 134 people, including 117 passengers and 17 crew, caught fire.

Authorities stated that 42 people have been rescued so far and that search and rescue efforts are continuing for the 87 missing people.
