Peskov rules out a meeting between Putin and Zelensky at the G20 summit in Miami

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the December G20 summit in Miami is impossible. The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, stated this in his commentary to AFP.

The Kremlin representative, answering AFP’s question about the likelihood of such a meeting, recalled the previously voiced position of the Russian president, according to which he could come to Moscow for negotiations with Zelensky. According to Peskov, Putin has not yet decided whether he will attend the summit.

Prior to this, the President of Ukraine allowed the possibility of negotiations within the framework of the G20 summit if both leaders were invited to the event. This year the United States holds the presidency of the G20.
