Ministry of Health in Gaza: Two-thirds of oxygen stations are out of service

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, it was stated that 12 of the 34 stations producing oxygen for hospitals in the Gaza Strip were able to provide service.

In the statement, it was emphasized that those currently in use were providing service with very limited facilities, and it was stated that 22 oxygen stations were out of service due to the lack of spare parts and equipment in the region due to Israel's strict blockade.

In the statement, it was noted that under these conditions, health institutions in the Gaza Strip are having difficulty meeting their oxygen needs.

It was stated that only 4 of the 30 oxygen cylinder filling units in the Gaza Strip were operational, and it was warned that the machines could stop at any time due to the engineering teams' failure to carry out emergency maintenance work.

The statement noted that the availability of medical oxygen is one of the basic needs that will save lives in hospitals, and stated that if the remaining oxygen stations stop working, the lives of patients in hospitals in the Gaza Strip will be in danger.

In the statement, it was requested that the restrictions on the entry of spare parts and technical equipment required for the maintenance of oxygen stations be lifted immediately.
