Iran condemns the targeting of Barzani's office with a drone

Speaking to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, Bekayi condemned the attack in his statement on the news that Barzani's office was targeted with a UAV.

Stating that the attack was a "very suspicious development", Bekayi emphasized that the incident should be handled with care and sensitivity.

Bekayi stated that Iran remains determined to maintain and strengthen friendly relations with Iraq and the KRG on all issues of common interest, and stated that all parties should make efforts to thwart the "evil plans of the enemies of Iran and Iraq" who want to damage the brotherly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

Recalling the previous warnings of Iraqi officials, especially the Iraqi National Security Advisor, that cells affiliated with some foreign elements and playing a role in the planning and implementation of "false flag" operations were detected in the country, the Iranian Spokesperson emphasized that all parties should show more attention and vigilance on the issue.

According to the statement made by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hussein spoke on the phone with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Erakçi after the attacks targeting Barzani's office and the residence of the Intelligence Agency Director.

During the meeting, "Previous attacks were defended by Iran by citing the presence of opposition groups in the region." It was stated that Hüseyin emphasized that critical points were targeted with the last attack.

Hussein said, "This situation constitutes a dangerous tension that will escalate tensions and threaten stability in the region." It was announced that he used the expressions.

It was emphasized that Hussein, who condemned the attack, demanded that the Tehran administration make an official statement explaining its attitude towards the attack, the parties behind it and their reasons.

It was noted that during the meeting, Erakçi stated that "his country rejects any steps that would escalate tensions and disrupt stability" and promised to publish an official statement clarifying Iran's stance on the incident.

Attack on Barzani's private office

In the written statement made by the KRG Anti-Terror Unit, it was stated that at 00.28 local time, an attack was carried out by Iran with 2 bomb-laden "Hadid-110" type UAVs on the place where the Special Office of the Prime Ministry and the Director of the Intelligence Organization stayed in the Salahaddin district of Erbil.

It was reported that there was no loss of life in the attack.

KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also condemned the attack, in his statement on the social media platform of US-based company X, stating that it was a direct threat to the security and stability of their region.
