Allegations against Ekrem İmamoğlu from Cemal Üneş in the case in Istanbul

The 66th session of the case, which was heard by the Istanbul 33rd High Criminal Court in the courtroom of the Marmara Closed Prison campus in Silivri, ended with the defense of 15 undetained defendants. It was learned that the hearing lasted approximately 13 hours.

At the hearing, the defendant Cemal Üneş took the floor and made statements regarding his statements during the investigation phase and the allegations regarding the local government of the period.

In the statements of the defendant Üneş to the police and the prosecutor's office; It was stated that he claimed that he was called by the then Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu after completing the construction in Beylikdüzü Yakuplu District in 2018. In his statement, Üneş claimed that the occupancy file of the building was kept on hold and that 500 thousand liras were requested from him, citing the upcoming election process, and that he rejected this request on the grounds that he did not have the ability to pay, and that he could not receive occupancy for about 4-5 months.

"I NEED MONEY HERE, 500 THOUSAND"

During the interrogation in the courtroom, when İmamoğlu asked him for money, the defendant Üneş said, "Of course I am. You asked whether you should run for election under those conditions, you even had a center, you said an investment there, something. You said you needed money here, 500 thousand. I said that you knew my situation and that I was not in a position to pay such money because I had just completed the construction." he said.

İmamoğlu said, "I said I will give you 500 thousand liras, right?" Upon the question, Üneş claimed that he was directed to Mehmet Çakılcıoğlu and said, "We made five promissory notes with him." he said.

To İmamoğlu's words, "You also made a promissory note...", Üneş replied, "Yes, we made a promissory note." he replied.
