Kemal Cenk Erdem Arrested: Judge's Decision on DemokratPay and Bitexen Connections

In the decision, it was also stated that money movements linked to Bitexen and Kemal Cenk Erdem were detected among the capital resources of DemokratPay and Dynamic Investment, and that there were two-way financial movements between Ayşin Erdem and Erdem amounting to approximately 100 million TL.

In the decision, it was stated that Erdem was shown as an influential person in the actual management and financial decision mechanism of the group of companies in the statements within the scope of the file, and therefore, it was noted that evaluating Erdem only as "Ayşin Erdem's wife" was not compatible with the findings in the file.

It was stated that by evaluating the existing financial records, company connections and compatible statement contents together, the judgeship came to the conclusion that there were findings and indications that would require a detailed investigation against Erdem in terms of the crimes of intermediating the transfer of money related to illegal betting and laundering the assets resulting from crime.

Erdem, in his defense before the judge, did not accept the accusations made against him and said, "I did not have any commercial activities with the company of which I am the chairman of the board of directors and the company in question. I demand my release."

The judge ruled that Kemal Cenk Erdem should be arrested, considering that there were facts indicating the existence of a strong suspicion of crime, that there were concrete facts regarding the suspicion of escape, that the evidence had not yet been completely collected, and that judicial control measures would be insufficient.
