TRNC Prime Minister Üstel announced the current status of the search efforts regarding the shipwreck off the coast of Kyrenia.

Ünal Üstel, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), shared the latest status of the search operations following the shipwreck off the coast of Kyrenia. Üstel stated that the search operations were continuing without interruption with all resources mobilized, saying, "As a result of the operations carried out so far, we have recovered five of our deceased. The number of people who have lost their lives is 13, and the number of people still missing is 15. As of today, no new bodies have been recovered. As days pass, the conditions for operations, especially underwater and inside the sunken ship, are becoming increasingly difficult. However, despite all difficulties, our teams operating from the air, sea, underwater, and land are continuing their work without interruption."

Üstel announced that new technical resources and alternative methods would be brought into operation in addition to the current efforts. He stated that technical personnel from experienced private organizations were conducting inspections in the accident area and on the sunken ship today and preparing preliminary reports. Emphasizing that he would travel to Istanbul tomorrow to review the reports prepared with organizations experienced in deep-sea salvage operations and ship recovery, Üstel said, "At the same time, I will meet with senior officials of the ship's insurance company to assess the situation. Following my contacts in Istanbul, I will move to Ankara to hold high-level meetings. I will evaluate the current situation, the reports received, and the new steps that can be taken. Then, I will return to the country and share the roadmap with the families of the missing and the public."
