Fiorentina sacks Fabio Grosso after 3 days. "ACF Fiorentina announces that Fabio Grosso has been relieved, today, of his role as coach of the men's first team", reads a note from the club, with 0 points in the league. Grosso is the first coach to lose his bench in this Serie A championship.

Fiorentina's decision to sack Fabio Grosso came in part by surprise: at the end of the match the Viola lost at the Franchi against Torino no manager had presented himself to the media but the message leaked by the club was one of trust in the coach despite the disappointing start to the championship (three defeats in as many matches) and the protest of the fans, awaiting the next three matches between the championship and the Italian Cup before the long break for the national teams.

Fresh from his experience at the helm of Sassuolo Grosso, he arrived in Florence at the beginning of June, chosen by sporting director Fabio Paratici, to begin a project to relaunch the team which last season was saved only two days from the end. Nobody imagined this negative start even considering the 130 million signing campaign that revolutionized the squad. Now Fiorentina will have to quickly decide on a replacement: among the names circulating are Thiago Motta, Tudor and Palladino.
