Lando Norris Doubles 2026 Grand Prix Win Tally with Dutch GP Victory

Lando Norris has secured his second grand prix win of the 2026 season at the Dutch Grand Prix, held in Zandvoort, with a series of impressive overtakes. Norris, who won the previous race in Hungary, lost the lead at the restart after Max Verstappen’s crash caused a red flag. However, he regained the lead with a brilliant overtake on Kimi Antonelli and later passed Lewis Hamilton to seal the victory.

Teammate Oscar Piastri struggled with pace, finishing sixth after a slow pit stop. Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli finished second, ahead of teammate George Russell, who obeyed team orders to let Antonelli through despite being in a better position late in the race.

The race began with a red flag after Verstappen lost control and crashed. Despite damp conditions, all drivers started on dry tyres. Norris initially lost the lead to Antonelli at the restart but proved quicker in the latter stages, benefiting from a later pit stop that gave him fresher tyres. A key overtake on Antonelli and a subsequent pass on Hamilton secured Norris’ win.

Other notable performances included Liam Lawson’s seventh place for Red Bull, Fernando Alonso’s ninth place with an upgraded Aston Martin, and Pierre Gasly’s tenth place for Alpine.

Norris reflected on his win, stating it was one of his better victories, praising his team’s strategy and his own management of the race.
