Lebanon Needs $7 Bln to Restore War-Affected Areas, Minister Says

Lebanon will need at least $7 billion in the first stage to restore areas affected by war, Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Bisat said. The preliminary estimates may be exceeded as the real sum could be higher. The World Bank estimates damage to Iran during the 2024 aggression at $11 bln, but Lebanon's destruction is more significant, affecting infrastructure facilities with potential economic damage totaling $20 bln. Agricultural production has plummeted by 40%, trade turnover fell by 60%, and the tourism sector is 95% paralyzed.
