Lyon: a 92-year-old woman between life and death after a violent burglary

The state of the nonagenarian suggests the brutality of the blows received. A 92-year-old woman was the victim of a violent burglary at her home on rue Godefroy (6th arrondissement of Lyon) on Monday, according to information from Le Progrès confirmed to Le Figaro by the prosecution. Severely beaten, the victim was transported to hospital conscious but with a life-threatening condition. Plunged into an artificial coma, she was still hospitalized on Thursday, a source close to the case told Le Figaro.

The events occurred in broad daylight in this busy area, between the quays of the Rhône and Place Maréchal Lyautey. They would have been extremely violent, according to our information, with the aim of terrorizing the victim and making him hand over his valuables. A woman was identified as the perpetrator of this violence. She fled but is actively sought by the police. An investigation was opened for attempted intentional homicide and violent theft by the Lyon public prosecutor's office and entrusted to the Lyon judicial police.
