Accident in Hungary: Bus with Polish Plate Rolled into the Empty, 12 People Lost Their Lives

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar made a statement on his social media account and announced that a bus with Polish license plate had an accident in Hungary and 12 people lost their lives. It was stated that the accident occurred after midnight on the M3 highway, near the Mezokeresztes settlement in eastern Hungary. According to initial findings, it was stated that the bus with 57 passengers and 2 drivers rolled into the ditch as a result of the driver sleeping. It is heard that more than 10 people were injured in the accident and the driver was detained by the police.

While the evacuation of passengers from the bus continued throughout the night, a crane was used to rescue some passengers trapped under the bus. While the injured were being treated in surrounding hospitals, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced that Polish Consulate officials in Hungary were in contact with Hungarian officials.
