Ekrem İmamoğlu claim from Muhittin Böcek: 15 million euro demand and hawala system statement

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek gave additional testimony and provided remarkable information. Stating that he had previously given a detailed statement, Böcek said, "As I stated in my previous statement, after I learned that the Mayor of Muratpaşa had met with Ekrem İmamoğlu and that he had given him certain assurances regarding the determination of the mayoral candidacies and that he would make payment in return for the presidential candidacy, I went to Istanbul by air with my private secretary Yasin Yellice on 30/11/2023. As far as I remember, I had a meeting with him in Istanbul on the same day at the Renaissance Istanbul Polat Bosphorus Hotel." "In this meeting, Ekrem İmamoğlu said that he did not promise to run for office to anyone else, but that he wanted approximately 15 million euros of financial support for this. I said that I would provide it in as much time as I could. After this meeting, I had some money allocated to a friend of mine for my election budget. I told this friend that I would pay him in Istanbul with the money I had left as a trust for my election budget."

“I GIVEN THE ENVELOPE TO İMAMOĞLU”

Stating that he did not want to give his friend's name, Böcek said, "Since the money I allocated for my election budget was less than 5 million euros, I asked my friend to pay the remaining amount as a loan. Upon my request, my friend agreed to give me a total of 5 million euros, including the money I allocated for my election budget. There, this friend of mine told me about a system called hawala. He said that we could deliver the money more safely and quickly by using this system instead of taking the money by hand and handing it over. I accepted this request because I trusted him. Thereupon, he was with me." He took a photo of the 100 TL money and said he would send it to the person who would make the payment in Istanbul. He then gave me the same 100 TL in an envelope with a note with a name and phone number written on it. Then he said, "Give this envelope to the person you want to pay, they can pick up the money in Istanbul Grand Bazaar." I don't want to give the phone number on the envelope, since it has been about 2 years. As far as I remember, Taç Döviz was written on the note paper. In the Istanbul leg of the Havala system, the money may have been sent to the workplace called Taç Döviz in the Grand Bazaar. I do not know whether the money was received later.

After the money transfer was made through the hawala system, I called Ekrem İmamoğlu on 16/12/2023. I requested an appointment to meet face to face. After he gave me an appointment on 17/12/2023, we went to Istanbul with Yasin Yellice by air on this date. In Istanbul, we had a private meeting with Ekrem İmamoğlu on the ground floor of a high-rise plaza that I remember as the election office. Here, I handed him the envelope that my friend gave me, containing 100 TL money and a note. I said that I would handle the remaining part of the requested money later, if there was a Presidential candidacy process. "Later, because Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested, I did not make the remaining payment to him," he said.
