Statement from Muhsin Rezai on the Strait of Hormuz and the USA

Mohsin Rezai, Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, made statements regarding the agenda in a television program he attended.

Stating that they will make a new decision regarding the Strait of Hormuz and that the agreement with Oman on the new corridor, where the entrance and exit of the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of Iran, will be signed in the coming days, Rizai said, "We will soon declare a restricted area around the Strait of Hormuz."

Rezai said that the area in question would start from the area where the USA imposed a naval blockade and include the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, and warned that any ship entering the new area to be declared "without permission" would be blacklisted by Iran.

Stating that his country will tighten the measures implemented in the Strait of Hormuz, Rizai stated that the strict measures implemented by Iran will have more impact than missile attacks and said, "We will make the commitment to keep the Strait of Hormuz open if the Americans do not carry out attacks and sabotage."

Speaking about Iran's attacks on US warships, Rezai said, "We tested our anti-ship missile on a US warship for the first time 48 hours ago."

Rezai claimed that the countries that played a mediator role between Iran and the USA were ineffective in implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries.

Stating that his country is already selling oil, Rıza added that the money for the oil sold has been collected.
