N. Korea Tests New Missile Systems Under Kim's Oversight
SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) -- North Korea tested a newly developed lightweight multi-purpose missile launching system and a multiple tactical cruise missile weapon system the previous day, its state media said Wednesday. The tests were overseen by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and are part of the country's efforts to modernize the artillery and missile units of its armed forces under a five-year goal for national defense development, the Korean Central News Agency said in a dispatch.
