Statement from NATO against Iranian Threats: We are Ready to Defend Allies

Following the news about Iran's possible attack plans against US military targets in Europe, a remarkable statement came from NATO.

The alliance emphasized that it has a strong deterrence and defense capacity against threats originating from Iran and stated that it is ready to defend all its allies.

NATO made a statement following the news published in the Financial Times newspaper that Iran was considering attacks on US military bases across Europe.

A NATO official stated that the Alliance is prepared against all kinds of threats and said, "NATO will always do what is necessary to defend all its allies." he said.

In the NATO statement, attention was also drawn to the effectiveness of the Alliance's air defense capacity.

The statement said, "Our deterrence and defense posture is strong and effective, as earlier this year NATO air defense systems successfully intercepted ballistic missiles directed from Iran to Türkiye in four separate incidents." statements were included.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi made a remarkable warning to the Sofia administration after the USA was given permission to use a base in Bulgaria.

"Any party that participates in any way in carrying out a military attack against Iran will be held strictly responsible for the consequences," Arakchi said during his meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart.

The Bulgarian Parliament approved the use of Bezmer Air Base as a refueling station for US military aircraft and allowed the deployment of approximately 250 US military personnel until October.
